PhD Student Hannah was born in Cambridge, UK and grew up in a small village in the East Anglian countryside. After completing her undergraduate studies in Biological Sciences at the University of Exeter, she gained an MSc in Pharmacogenetics and Stratified Medicine at University College London. During her thesis project she used a high through-put method to identify SNPs in cardiac surgery patients. It was here that she developed a keen interest in medical genomics. Now at the University of Zurich, Hannah's PhD project is focusing on the characterisation of the methylome and transcriptome of precancerous lesions within the colon using next generation sequencing techniques. Outside of the lab, Hannah enjoys horse riding, skiing and art.
