Lydia obtained her my BSc degree in Molecular Biotechnology from the Technical University Dresden, Germany. During her final year, she participated in the International Genetically Engineered Machine competition (iGEM), developing a novel platform for the encapsulation of bacteria.
Afterwards, she enrolled in the MSc program of Molecular Medicine in Jena. As part of her Master’s thesis she analyzed the spatial distribution of HPV-Integration sites in cervical precancers at the University Hospital of Jena.
Following this, she started her PhD in Microbiology and Immunology in Prof. Anne Müllers group. Her PhD project is focused on the influence of antibiotics in the neonatal development.
